  • the symptoms of dry eye, which include feelings of dryness, grittiness, and soreness
  • treatment of mild or moderate dry eye with over-the-counter artificial tear drops
  • administration of preservative-free eye drops in patients with severe symptoms
  • non-pharmacological interventions, such as avoiding exposure to high temperatures or air conditioning.
