Public Health England (PHE) has published Antimicrobial resistance—resource handbook, which collates national resources on antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection prevention and control.
In addition to resources developed by PHE, the Department of Health, and UK stakeholders, the handbook also contains guidance on healthcare associated infections that has been developed by other international organisations, and which may be helpful for allied health professionals and the NHS.
Resources listed in the handbook include:
- UK five year antimicrobial resistance strategy, Department of Health
- NICE Guideline 63 on Antimicrobial stewardship: changing risk-related behaviours in the general population
- NICE Quality Standard 113 on Healthcare-associated infections
- The green book—immunisation against infectious disease, Public Health England.
The handbook will be reviewed every 6 months, and updated as new resources, guidance, and policies become available.
