Guidelines and Guidelines in Practice provide learning around evidence-based clinical guidance to help support you in meeting your CPD and revalidation needs.
How to use your learning tracker
Your learning tracker automatically tracks Guidelines summaries, Guidelines in Practice articles, and educational resources you have viewed on Guidelines.co.uk and GuidelinesinPractice.co.uk.
You must be registered to access your learning tracker and you need to be logged in for your learning activities to be tracked. If you are not yet registered click here.
You can record the time spent on each learning activity and add private notes to reflect on your learning and how it might influence practice. You can also double your credits by demonstrating the impact of your learning on patients or your practice.
Exporting your learning activities as a PDF enables you to save evidence of your guidance-related learning in preparation for your appraisal and revalidation.
Guidelines and Guidelines in Practice learning activities
Below we have suggested the number of CPD credits for each learning activity. You can select the time spent on each activity in your learning tracker.
Read clinical guideline summaries for primary and shared care and make notes below the summary on your key learning points. The summary will automatically be added to your learning tracker; you can view and edit your notes at the end of the summary or in your 'My notes' section. You can select the time spent reading the summary and reflecting on your learning on your learning tracker.
Guidelines in Practice articles
Read Guidelines in Practice articles covering new guidance, practical advice on local implementation, guidelines-related 'hot topics', and make notes below the article on your key learning points. The article will automatically be added to your learning tracker; you can view and edit your notes at the end of the article or in your 'My notes' section. You can select the time spent reading the article and reflecting on your learning on your learning tracker.
CPD action points have been developed for some Guidelines in Practice articles to help you demonstrate impact on your clinical practice and double your learning credits.
These are written by Honor Merriman (GP and CPD Tutor, Oxfordshire) and reviewed by Professor Nigel Sparrow (Medical Director for Professional Development and Revalidation at the Royal College of General Practitioners, and National Professional Advisor for General Practice at the Care Quality Commission).
